About The Department

The entire world’s industries expect graduates having lifelong learning skills with new innovations in emerging technologies. The Department of Emerging Technologies was established in the year 2020. The department has begun offering B.Tech. CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and B.Tech. CSE (Cyber Security) programmes with an intake of 60. In the year 2021, the department has introduced another programme B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with an intake of 60. Due to the high demand in the industry, the department has increased the intake of B.Tech. CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science programs from 60 to 120 in the year 2022 and from 120 to 180 in the year 2023.

The department has highly qualified faculty members with minimum M. Tech qualification with specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Technology, Cyber Security, Data Science, Machine learning and Software Engineering.

The department has cutting-edge laboratories with the most up-to-date configuration systems, which aids in the development of students' programming skills.

The Department provides high-quality technical education that is based on research, to help students develop innovative skills, and to enhancing academic activities via ongoing development of the teaching and learning process. Students are nurtured with a variety of learning activities including and not restricted to classroom teaching, presentations, video lectures, experiential learning, Swayam NPTEL and other MOOC online courses by faculty in the institute and across the globe. Students are encouraged to take up industry-oriented projects, participate in hackathons and coding competitions at national and international level.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

Engineering Graduate will be able to:

1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

9. Individual and teamwork: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

The Department of Emerging Technologies is making every effort to provide students with a solid foundation in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science and Machine Learning theory and practice, empowering them to become educated, ethical professionals and lifelong learners. In this line, the department also offers a few value-added courses in addition to the curriculum to satisfy the needs of the industry. The department routinely hosts seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, webinars, and workshops by industry professionals for both students and faculty in order to keep up with the industry's dynamism. Students are continuously motivated to participate in various national and international events. All these methods assist pupils in becoming marketable. Welcome to the Department of Computer Science Engineering- Cyber Security at Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus, Ibrahimpatnam. The department runs an undergraduate program inComputer Science Engineering- Cyber Security. The department vision is to be excellence in value based on Engineering Education.
The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty. The department strives to impart knowledge and training to students in latest technologies. The objective of the department is to prepare students for a successful career in Industry, Research and Academics to meet the needs of growing technology.

Our efforts are to develop the ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to product design. Dr. M. SADISH SENDIL is working as Professor & Head of the Department of Emerging Technologies at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli in 1997 with First class. He completed his Master of Engineering with Distinction and 18th Rank holder from Anna University, Chennai in 2004. He Obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University in March 2012. He has 26 years of teaching experience in which 6 years in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries (Saudi Arabia and Sultanate of Oman). He is a EMC2 Certified Academic Associate Cloud Infrastructure and Services. He is an Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) General Foundation Program External Reviewer. He has actively participated in AICTE – NBA certified OBE Trainer cum Evaluator Workshop and acted as resource person for various institutions. He has attended, participated, and organized in many national and international conferences, faculty development programs, workshops, seminars, and webinars. He has conducted IEEE Sponsored International Conference on Knowledge Collaboration in Engineering 2014 and published research papers in 5 International journals. He has successfully published four Indian patents among that one design patent. He is authored 1 international book and 2 national books. He is a reviewer, chief editor, and editorial member for various national, international conferences and journals. He is a life member of CSI, ISTE and IEEE, Associate Member of UACEE.

Dr. Sheetal Kundra is working as Head of Department in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Department at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. She completed her B.Tech CSE from Punjab Technical University, in 2003, M.Tech CSE from Punjab Technical University in 2010, and Ph.D. in CSE from Punjab Technical University in April 2018. She has 18 years of teaching experience. She has published 10 international journals and published 2 patents. Her research interests include Social Networks and Artificial Intelligence. She is a member of ISTE.

Dr. Ch. Balakrishna is currently working as Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) department of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He is having 17+ years of Experience in Teaching and Research. He handled various subjects for Undergraduate and Post graduate students. His area of Interest in the domains of Cyber Security, Cryptography and Network Security, Data science, Cloud Computing and Big Data.
He has enormous knowledge and hands on exposure on Trending Technologies like Microsoft Azure Data Factory and Azure Data bricks, Full stack web development using Java and also in Spring frame work for web development. He guided more than 50 Batches of B. Tech and more than 20 M. Tech Students.

Dr. Ch. Balakrishna is an Innovation Ambassador for IIC and delivered various seminars and webinars through internal and external mode. He participated in numerous seminars, workshops, conferences and faculty development programs organized by reputed universities and Institutions in India. He has a member of several journals. He delivered the content as key note speaker for abundant symposiums and conferences. He is a Member of IAENG, ICSES and IAAC.
Dr. Ch. Balakrishna published more than 20 articles of which 13 are journal publications and 7 are conferences. He has delivered 8 guest lectures and 4 key note speeches in reputed organizations. He has 07 Indian Patents and author for 3 book chapters and 1 text book. He attended 37 faculty development programs, 9 workshops, 8 MOOC’s and received 2 Innovation ambassador awards by the AICTE

Mr. Chandra Sekhar Gurudu is presently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Emerging Technologies at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (Autonomous) Hyderabad. He did his B.E from C.B.I.T (Osmania University) and completed his M.Tech. in Computer Science, First Class with distinction from JNTU, Hyderabad, Telangana. He has 18 years of professional teaching experience in various Engineering colleges in Telangana. He worked at National Institute of Technology, Sohar, Muscat for Five years. He has rich experience in Academics as well as in Industry. He has published 5 research papers in UGC journals and attended various conferences and workshops. Mr. VINAY KUMAR ENUGALA is working as Assistant Professor in CSE Department in Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. She completed her B.Sc CS from St. Pious X Degree and PG college ,Hyderabad in 2001, M.Sc CS from A.V College , Hyderabad in 2003, and M Tech . Gundiga Swapna is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad with a diverse educational background. She completed her M. Tech from IIT KHARAGPUR, in 2011.She has 5 years of experience in the teaching field. She secured All India 90th Rank in GATE -2008.

Mr. DIP DAS, is working as Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Aliah University (2017) and a M.Tech in Computer Science and Aliah University of Punjab (2019). His research interests include Machine Learning, Cybersecurity.

Mr. SHASHI KANT MISHRA is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emerging Technologies at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He completed his BE CSE from Pt. R.S.S. University, Raipur in 2006, MTech in CSE & Multimedia with Distinction from Kalinga & CSVTU University, Raipur in 2018 & 2020 respectively. Registered and pursuing Ph.D in CSE at CSVTU University. He has 16 years of experience in which 12 years as an Assistant Professor and 4 years in software industry experience. He has published 8 international journals and published 2 patents. His Areas of interest include Programming Languages (C, C++, Java, and Python), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and related fields. He is a member of IAENG.

Rohit Jain is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Emerging Technologies at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. He completed his BE CSE from BIST-RGPV Bhopal in 2010 and ME CSE from UIT-RGPV Bhopal in 2015. He has 07 years of teaching experience and qualified GATE exam multiple times. He has presented and published one paper in international conference published by Mc Graw Hill Education. His research interest includes Metaheuristic Techniques for NP hard problems, Soft Computing Techniques and interdisciplinary areas.

Mr. AAQIB IQBAL ALAIE, is working as Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (2018) and an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Central University of Punjab (2020). His research interests include Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, NLP, and Deep Learning.

Laboratories

Data Structures Lab

This lab is dedicated for students to practice data structures like stacks, queues and linked lists, implement searching and sorting algorithms, and acquire knowledge about applications of data structures. Students are made familiar with C, C++, JAVA programming and its applications. The latest platforms/compilers are provided to the students to run the programs.

Object Oriented Programming through Java Lab

This lab is dedicated for students to practice to develop programs with reusability Develop programs for file handling, handle exceptions in programming, develop applications for a range of problems using object-oriented programming techniques. This lab reinforces the understanding of basic object-oriented programming concepts (objects, classes and subclasses, methods) and their expressions in Java. Students get trained to analyze and design solutions for real world problems based on object-oriented principles and write simple Graphical User Interface (GUI) interfaces. This lab imparts hands on experience on abstract.

Operating Systems Lab

This lab has provided a platform to the students to study different operating systems such as windows 98/ME/XP, Unix & Linux. The objective of this lab is to provide practical exposure to students to simulate and implement operating system concepts such as scheduling, deadlock management, file management and memory management. Students also get trained on the implementation of various operating system concepts such as scheduling, deadlock management, file management and memory management. The latest platforms/compilers are provided to the students to run the programs.

Database Management Systems Lab

This lab is dedicated for students to work on practical experiments, projects and research work, related to courses such as Database Management Systems, Big Data Analysis. etc. The requirement of modern days is to have an automated system that manages, modifies and updates data accurately. This is achieved by a Database Management System in robust, correct and non redundant way. Through DBMS laboratory, students will get knowledge about the database environment, a way to manage data and access the data quickly and efficiently. The latest platforms and MySQL are provided to the students to run the programs.

Software Engineering Lab

This lab is dedicated for students to get hands on experience in developing a software project by using various software engineering principles and methods in each of the phases of software development. Students will be trained to translate end-user requirements into system and software requirements, generate a high-level design of the system from the software requirements and develop a simple testing report. The latest platforms and Star UML are provided to the students to run the programs.

Machine Learning Lab

This lab is dedicated for students to get hands on experience in Understand the concepts of computational intelligence like machine learning Ability to get the skill to apply machine learning techniques to address real-time problems in different areas Understand the Neural Networks and their usage in machine learning applications.

Software Testing Methodologies Lab

The lab is dedicated to provide a practical exposure to learn the concepts The students should be able to: Gain knowledge of phases in the life cycle of software development, project organization, project control and process instrumentation Analyze the major and minor milestones, artifacts and metrics from management and technical perspective Design and develop software product using conventional and modern principles of software project management.
