About The Department
The Department of CSE(Cyber Security) was established in the year 2020. The department has begun offering B.Tech. CSE (Cyber Security) program with an intake of 60.
The department has highly qualified faculty members with minimum M. Tech qualification with Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Technology and Cyber Security, The department has cutting-edge laboratories with the most up-to-date configuration systems, which aids in the development of students' programming skills.The department is committed to conducts workshops, training programs, and awareness campaigns to educate students and faculty about cyber security best practices.
The Department provides high quality technical education that is based on research to help students to develop innovative skills, and to enhancing academic activities via ongoing development of the teaching and learning process. Students are nurtured with a variety of learning activities not only classroom teaching but also presentations, video lectures, experiential learning, Swayam NPTEL and other MOOC online courses by faculty in the institute and across the globe. Students are encouraged to take up industry-oriented projects, participate in hackathons and coding competitions at national and international level.

1. Engineering Knowledge:
Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

HOD Message
Welcome to the Department of Computer Science Engineering (Cyber Security) at Guru Nanak Institution of Technology, Ibrahimpatnam. The department runs an undergraduate program in Computer Science Engineering- Cyber Security. The department vision is to be excellence in value based on Engineering Education. The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty. The department strives to impart knowledge and training to students in latest technologies. The objective of the department is to prepare students for a successful career in Industry, Research and Academics to meet the needs of growing technology.
Our efforts are to develop the ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to product design. The department provides an opportunity for students to work as a team member or as a project leader on multidisciplinary projects. It provides students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems and to prepare them for higher studies as well as research. We promote student awareness for life-long learning and to introduce them to professional ethics and codes.

Dr. Ch. Balakrishna is currently working as Associate Professor& HOD in Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) department of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He received B. Tech (IT) degree in 2006, M. Tech (CSE) degree in 2012 from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. He completed his Ph.D. in 2020.He is having 19+ years of Experience in Teaching and Research. He handled various subjects for Undergraduate and Post graduate students. His area of Interest in the domains of Cyber Security, Cryptography and Network Security, Data science, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning and Big Data.
He has enormous knowledge and hands on exposure on Trending Technologies like Microsoft Azure Data Factory and Azure Data bricks, Full stack web development using Java and also in Spring frame work for web development. He guided more than 50 Batches of B. Tech and more than 20 M. Tech Students.
Dr. Ch. Balakrishna is an Innovation Ambassador for IIC and delivered various seminars and webinars through internal and external mode. He participated in numerous seminars, workshops, conferences and faculty development programs organized by reputed universities and Institutions in India. He has an editorial board member of several journals. He delivered the content as key note speaker for abundant symposiums and conferences. He is a Member of IEEE, ISTE, IAENG, ICSES and IAAC.
Dr. Ch. Balakrishna published more than 27 articles of which 19 are journal publications and 8 are conferences. He has delivered 10 guest lectures and 5 key note speeches in reputed organizations. He has 10 Indian Patents and author for 3 book chapters and 2 text books. He attended 55 faculty development programs, 9 workshops, 9 MOOC’s and received 2 Innovation ambassador awards by the AICTE.

Dr. K. Rajkumar holds a B.E. in Computer Science Engineering and an M.E. in Software Engineering from Anna University. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering at Noorul Islam University. With over 12 years of experience spanning academia and industry, including 8 years in SADC countries.
Dr. Rajkumar has published 32 research papers in reputed international journals (SCI/SCIE, Scopus, and peer-reviewed), authored 3 books, and holds 4 patents. His research interests include Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, Network Security, Virtual Reality/ Argument Reality, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.
A certified Wipro Java Full Stack Trainer and IIC Innovation Ambassador, he is a life member of professional bodies such as ISTE, IAENG, ICSES, UACEE, and IAEPT.
Mrs. KOTARI NIRMALA is presently working as Associate Professor in the Département of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (Autonomous) Hyderabad. She did her M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering First Class with distinction from Dr. M.G.R University, Chennai. She has 17+ years of professional Teaching experience. She is pursuing her Ph.D. She has rich experience in Academics and has published 13 Research Papers in National and International Journals(SCI/SCIE, Scopus and Other Peer Reviewed Journals) and Conferences. She has 5 Patents and author for 4 book chapters. She attended various Conferences, Workshops and FDPs.


Mr. VINAY KUMAR ENUGALA is working as Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) Department in Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He completed his B.Tech CSE with Distinction from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in 2006, M.Tech SE with Distinction from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in 2012, and pursuing Ph.D.in CSE from GITAM University from Dec 2019. He has 16+ years of teaching experience. He has published 09 International Journals, 3 Textbooks and 6 patents. His research interest includes Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Design Pattern, IoT and interdisciplinary areas. He is a member of CSI, ISTE and IEEE.
Mr. SHASHI KANT MISHRA is working as an Assistant Professor inthe Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security) at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He completed his BE in Computer Science& Engineering from Pt. R.S.S. UniversityRaipur in 2006, MTech in CSE(Multimedia) from KalingUniversity, Dual MTech in CSE from CSVTUUniversity both with honors in 2018 and 2020, respectively and Currently PhD(P) in CSE from CSVTU, Bhilai. He has 17 years of experience in which 13 years as an Assistant Professor and 4 years of software industry experience. He has published 14 international journals and published 8 patents, 2 books & 4 book chapters. His Areas of interest includes Programming Languages (C, C++, Java, and Python), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and related fields. He is a member of IAENG & Internet Society.


Ms. RUPINDER SAINI is working as an Assistant Professor in the Département of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (Autonomous) Hyderabad, with 9 years of dedicated service. Her academic and research contributions have made significant impacts in the field of computer science.Shealsoworked as an Administrative Manager in RE/MAX-UK for 3 years. B. PRANEETH REDDY is working as an Assistant Professor inthe Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security) at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He completed his B.Tech in Computer Science& Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad in 2012, MTech in CSE from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad in 2015. Cyber Crime Investigation and Digital Forensics (CCIDF) Lab
The Cyber Crime Investigation and Digital Forensics (CCIDF) Labisspecialized facility equipped with advanced technology and software, designed to collect, preserve, analyze, and interpret digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, networks, and other digital sources to support investigations into cybercrimes, including hacking, data breaches, online fraud, and cyber harassment focuses on imparting practical skills related to cybercrime investigation and digital forensics. It creates a forensically sound copy of digital evidence to avoid tampering with the original data. It is essential for students pursuing careers in cybersecurity and related fields.

Object Oriented Programming through Java Lab
This lab is dedicated for students to practice Able to develop programs with reusability Develop programs for file handling Handle exceptions in programming Develop applications for a range of problems using object-oriented programming techniques.
This lab reinforces the understanding of basic object oriented programming concepts (objects, classes and subclasses, methods) and their expressions in Java. Students get trained to analyze and design solution for real world problems based on object-oriented principles and write simple Graphical User Interface (GUI) interfaces. This lab imparts hands on experience on abstract.

Operating Systems Lab
This lab has provided a platform to the students to study different operating systems such as windows 98/ME/XP, Unix & Linux. The objective of this lab is to provide practical exposure to students to simulate and implement operating system concepts such as scheduling, deadlock management, file management and memory management. Students also get trained on the implementation of various operating system concepts such as scheduling, deadlock management, file management and memory management. The latest platforms/compilers are provided to the students to run the programs.

Database Management Systems Lab
This lab is dedicated for students to work on practical experiments, projects and research work, related to courses such as Database Management Systems, Big Data Analysis. etc. The requirement of modern days is to have an automated system that manages, modifies and updates data accurately. This is achieved by a Database Management System in robust, correct and non redundant way. Through DBMS laboratory, students will get knowledge about the database environment, a way to manage data and access the data quickly and efficiently. The latest platforms and MySQL are provided to the students to run the programs.

Machine Learning Lab
This lab is dedicated for students to get hands on experience in Understand the concepts of computational intelligence like machine learning , ability to get the skill to apply machine learning techniques to address real-time problems in different areas. Understanding the Neural Networks and their usage in machine learning applications.

Computer Networks Lab
The lab is dedicated to provide a practical exposure to learn the concepts of computer networking, networking layers and acquire practical notions of various communication protocols. Students get trained to analyze the traffic flow and the contents of protocol frames, implement data link layer farming methods, and Encoding and Decoding techniques and routing. Students can diagnose various protocol message details like TCP/UDP using Wireshark. NetSim is used to simulate the features of IP routing, transport layer flow and congestion control, data link layer protocol modelling over CSMA/CD .

Artificial Intelligence Lab
Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs in engineering are dedicated to advancing AI technologies and their applications across various engineering disciplines. These labs focus on developing intelligent systems, machine learning algorithms, and AI-driven solutions to address complex engineering challenges. AI labs create intelligent systems that can learn from data, solve problems, and perform tasks that usually require humanintelligence.AI lab experts use machine learning to develop systems that can learn from data and take action

Cryptography and Network Security Lab
A "Cryptography and Network Security Lab" is a practical learning environment where students implement and experiment with various cryptographic algorithms and network security techniques to gain hands-on experience in protecting data confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity across networks Cryptography and Network Security Labs are integral components of engineering curricula, particularly within Computer Science and Engineering departments. These labs provide students with practical experience in securing digital communications and understanding the underlying principles of cryptographic algorithms.

Skill Development Course Lab
A "skill development lab" is a dedicated space where individuals can practice and hone specific skills through hands-on training, utilizing specialized equipment and guided instruction, often focused on practical application within a particular field, allowing them to develop competencies in a controlled environment before applying them in real-world scenarios.Skill development courses are essential for engineering students to enhance their technical expertise and soft skills, thereby improving employability and career prospects

Data Structures Lab
This lab is dedicated for students to practice data structures like stacks, queues, trees, graphs and linked lists, implement searching and sorting algorithms and acquire knowledge about applications of data structures. The goal is to develop proficiency in designing and implementing algorithms that leverage different data structures to solve real-world problems. Students are made familiar with C, C++, JAVA programming and its applications. The latest platforms/compilers are provided to the students to run the programs.

Cyber Security Essentials Lab
The Cyber Security Essentials Lab is designed to provide hands-on experience in fundamental cybersecurity conceptsincluding secure configuration management, user access control, malware protection, network security, and patch management, enabling students to understand and mitigate various cyber threats. Engaging in such labs enhances practical skills essential for a career in cybersecurity.
